Last week I began reviewing our School Improvement Goals. This week I will discuss with you our Mathematics achievements thus far in the year. The following is a summary: 

• Staff participated in a workshop offered by our Family of Schools Consultant on the Three Part Math Lesson
• Implicit Teaching of Problem-Solving Strategies 
• Implementation of Mad Minute to review basic computational skills 
• Differentiated Instruction as all children learn differently
• Sharing of best practices among staff 
• Middle Schools students will be competing in upcoming math competitions 
• Purchased license for IXL and Khan Academy (mostly at middle school level) for use at home 
• Implicit teaching of EQAO strategies across the grades 
• Math Word Walls visible in the classrooms
