Well, we are almost there...the last day! We've experienced some wonderful events over the last week, including our grade 8 and kindergarten graduations. Both pull on your heart!

Before ending the school year, I'd like to express my gratitude and joy for being blessed to be at LKS. As Principal, I am deeply honoured to be working with such an amazing staff, spectacular students and supportive community. We've had a successful year and the students have accomplished so much, both in academics and socially. We've had our challenges this past month, but I think it's important to stay positive and focused on providing strong academic programs.  We will continue to focus on this goal come the fall.

Just a final reminder that all report cards will be mailed home the week of July 13th and classrooms will be posted on Friday, June 26, 29, 30th  and again the week before school begins. They will be posted on the window by the front door. Once again, teachers have worked diligently on creating the classrooms and I ask that the process be honoured.

I hope to see you at Lunch on the Lawn tomorrow.

I hope you have a wonderful summer and we will see you on September 8th. Please check my blog again before returning to school for start-up information, including any news about labour negotiations.

I just got back from the Track and Field City Finals and I can't tell you how proud I am. It's so inspiring to see our athletes push themselves to do their best! I'd like to congratulate all members of the soccer and track and field teams as they played hard and showed outstanding sportsperson ship this week. Most events had to be rescheduled this week creating a snowball effect at the school level, but we seemed to manage. Thanks to all the parents who rearranged their schedules to get the kids to their scheduled events.

As you may already know, we've been given some direction from our Board regarding report cards and I'm sure we will have more over the next week or so. Please read our Parent Bulletins as I will be sharing more information that applies to our own school.

Finally, I wish our grade 8 students a big congratulations as they will be graduating tomorrow night. It will be a special night for the students, families and staff.
