Week Ahead

I hope everyone had a great weekend! What a dreary looking day. Hopefully it doesn't rain...at least not at recess and lunch!

Just a reminder that we will be hosting Curriculum Night on Thursday. We have a variety of times and rooms scheduled, so please read your teacher's communcation around your particular one. Also, the times are posted on a previous blog.

On Tuesday, the students will attend our Terry Fox Kick-Off Assembly in the afternoon. We look foward to the walk on October 1st.

This year the grade 4-8 Student Safety Reps will launching the TDSB's Character Development initiative. Every month they will be promoting one of the 10 character traits that TDSB encourages all students to possess. September's trait...RESPECT. All students were invited to demonstrate how they show respect at LKS through either a drawing (grade 1-3) or a short essay (grade 4-8). All entries are due this Friday.

Week of October 8, 2007

We would like to welcome Ms. Ng to Lambton-Kingsway. Ms. Ng will be teaching music in the mornings to most of our primary and junior classes. She is replacing Dr. Grant who is absent this month.

On September 28th, our staff began working on 2007/2008 team goals to address the needs and strengths of our students and programs. We will publish those shortly.

We have a very busy upcoming week:
Oct 9th-Grade 7/8 Girls Softball Tournament at Norseman all day; Junior Boys Football @ Keele-3:30; Junior Boys Softball Tournament all day @ Erin Gate; Grade 8 Boys Softball all day
Oct 10th-Grade 7/8 Boys Football Game @ 3:30 (Smithfield); Grade 6 Softball @ Wells Worth all day
Oct 11th-Cross Country @ Centennial for West Finals

15th-19th-Dental Screening takes place; forms have been sent home
15th-Grade 3 and 6 EQAO Parent Night from 6:00-7:00-location will be posted in front hall (library and/or Room 208)
16th-Ms. Hazelton will be taking students to an EcoSchools Awards Ceremony (we will be getting a bronze) ; Sr. Boys Foftball Tournament all day
17th-Sr. Girls Football Tournament all day
22nd-November 16th-First teaching block for our student teachers
22nd-26th-Mr. Page begins health units
26th-Pizza Lunch
29th-Anti-bullying Presenations for grades 1-8
31st-Hallowe'en Parade begins after morning announcements
