Last Week of February

What a terrific day we had celebrating the Olympics at LKS! The weather co-operated so we could get outside, and the students really seemed to enjoy the activities. Thank you to all the staff, including Ms. Moser, Student Council and the grade 8 students for organizing such a wonderful event!

On a cautionary note, please remind your children of the street proofing tips that we discuss at school. The police have been patrolling the neighbourhood a little more this week as one of our older students was going home for lunch and a suspicious person followed him for a bit. Please remember to tell the kids that if they suspect anything similar to actually 'scream' and stick to the main roads. Most kids feel 'weird' screaming, but the police say it really does help in those situations. We will also be reminding the kids over the next couple of weeks. The students should also try to walk in groups or with a partner. I also looked under the Toronto Police website and found further tips, under Crime Prevention.
