Congratulations to our Senior Boys' Basketball team and Senior and Junior Girls' Volleyball teams as all participated in tournaments this week. All of the students played well this week and should be proud of their efforts. Thank you to Mr. Littlejohn, Ms. Moser, Ms. Sunde, Mr. Kuru, Mr. Bracht and Mr. Ross for coaching.

I'd also like to thank Ms. Walker for being the staff advisor to our craft club this year. The kids really enjoyed this lunch-time club.

I'd like to congratulate the students on a great first term. They should be proud of their accomplishments. Our junior and intermediate students are encouraged to take some time to begin setting their second term goals. The teachers are completing their short range goals and are focusing on a moderated marking session this term. This is valuable professional development as it provides an opportunity to assess student work using common rubrics with colleagues.

We received our preliminary projected enrolment numbers for next year, and we are projected to have 641 students in September. This number has decreased over the years; we did start with 671 in 2007. As many of you know, this is the number the board uses for staffing and the ministry uses for funding.

We are looking forward to seeing our kindergarten parents at our "Early Reading Strategies" session on Wednesday night @ 6:30 p.m. in the library.

I hope you have a wonderful long weekend with your family and friends.
